What Is the Leveraged ETF Monitor?
The Leveraged ETF Monitor is a trading signal tool that helps you decide when to add or exit positions in leveraged ETFs. It analyzes daily price data using moving averages, volatility-based stops, and momentum indicators to generate clear, actionable signals each trading day.
1How It Works
- •You select a "Core ETF" (like QQQ, TLT, or FBTC) that you want to track for trend direction.
- •Based on the Core ETF's trend, the system tells you whether to focus on the Long ETF (bullish, e.g., TQQQ) or Short ETF (bearish, e.g., SQQQ).
- •Each day after market close, the system evaluates price action and outputs a bias (Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral).
- •It calculates how many "tranches" (position slots) you can add that day, based on trend strength.
- •A trailing stop (Chandelier Exit) is computed to help you manage risk on open positions.
- •Optionally, you can set a target profit level using an R-based system.
2Example
Using the Monitor for TQQQ
You set up a monitor with:
• Core ETF: QQQ
• Long ETF: TQQQ (3x leveraged Nasdaq)
• Short ETF: SQQQ (3x inverse Nasdaq)
Today, QQQ closes above its 21-day and 50-day moving averages. The system shows:
• Bias: BULLISH
• Eligible Adds: 2 (you can open up to 2 tranche slots today)
• Suggested ETF: TQQQ
• Stop Price: $42.15 (based on Chandelier Exit)
You buy TQQQ at $45.00 and record it in Tranche 1. The stop updates daily as the trend continues.
3Common Questions
Is this tool for day trading?
No. This tool is designed for end-of-day (EOD) swing trading. Signals are generated after the market closes, and decisions are typically executed the following trading day.
Do I need to watch the market all day?
No. You only need to check the dashboard once after market close to see the updated signals and decide on any actions for the next day.
Can I use this for non-leveraged ETFs?
Yes. While optimized for leveraged ETFs, you can configure any ETF symbols. The logic adapts to whatever tickers you enter.
How many monitors can I create?
Each account supports up to 3 monitors. This allows you to track multiple Core ETFs simultaneously — for example, QQQ (Nasdaq), TLT (Treasuries), and FBTC (Bitcoin).
